ABOUT US
We are starting a new WebZine called SouthernDying.com (in no way affiliated with or inspired by the popular Southern Living magazine). We will be promoting shows, showcasing bands, artists, theatre, merchandise and more. There is information posted now on three projects that we are doing. The kickoff date has not been established as of yet. The group is currently working on documentary piece on the Huntsville, Alabama music scene during the 80's decade. Upon completion of the documentary, production of the concept laid out here will begin. We thought that the documentary project would be long released by now. However, getting the producers together at the same time is difficult at best and, this being our first time out of the gate with a project like this, we are hitting a lot of learning curves. However, we can safely say that upon completion, it will be a well produced documentary.

We are a group of 1980's to current participants in the Huntsville/256 music scene and some other "backers". We want to showcase the scene (our old stomping grounds) because a lot of great acts have formed here only never to be recognized. We intend to change that.

The current scene, which grew out of the 1980's, is still around and is not only expanding it's boundaries, but is thriving as well. Thankfully, the concept of this project has been of great interest that we were fast in recruiting quite a number of contributors from interviewers, photographers, live show and demo reviewers, visual artists and more. If you want to be a contributor, contact us at sd@SouthernDying.com.

WHERE WE ARE
The site is barebones at the moment. We will be changing to a new design once we begin posting produced material

WHERE WE ARE GOING
Eventually, we will be putting together shows, interviewing bands, selling merchandise, hosting videos and more. We will also have reporters who do interviews with you before or after the show if possible, review music and again, more. If you are interested in becoming a reporter, reviewer, videographer, photographer, artist or anything else let us know my sending an email to contributor@SouthernDying.com.

More to come about the WebZine later. Just keep checking back with the SouthernDying.com website and please, PASS THE WORD ABOUT WHAT WE ARE DOING.

There will be three video documentaries produced about the Huntsville/256 Music Scene.
Each will focus on particular decades starting in 1980 and going through 2010.

The 1980's Documentary is currently being produced.
